Hosted by big names like Capital One, Reese’s, and Nissan, the event-filled weekend of March 31st to April 3rd on Monday includes opportunities for all ages to enjoy for the Final Four in Houston. Whether it’s the sports, the music, the competition, or the party, we’ve got all the details you’re looking for when traveling down to H-Town.

Four Things To Know for the Final Four in Houston

We’ve gathered the essential information you need for your trip to the city, from parking, dining, and the itinerary for the exciting weekend ahead:

The Final Four Events 

This year’s event lineup is sprawled all over Houston. Events for kids, runners, sports fans, and music fans, and party people were organized by the Houston Local Organizing Committee, providing Houstonians and visitors for an unforgettable experience.

  2. March Madness Music Festival at Discovery Green (3/31 – 4/2)
  3. Reese’s Men’s Final Four Friday at NRG Stadium (3/31)
  4. Men’s Final Four Dribble in Downtown Houston (4/2)
  5. Men’s Final Four Tip Off Tailgate in NRG Park – Blue Lot (3/31 – 4/1 & 4/3)
  6. Houston Local Organizing Committee Final Four 4 Miler at Hermann Square Houston City Hall (4/1)

The Games

For those of y’all that want to go to the big games themselves, the Final Four will take place Saturday April 1st and the championship game will be April 3rd – both at Reliant Stadium. 

Texas Southern University will also host the HBCU All-Star Game comprised of the top 24 players from HBCUs across the nation making up the two rosters for the contest. The game is set for Sunday, April 2 at 3 p.m. CST in the H&PE Arena and airs live on the CBS Television Network and will be available to stream on Paramount+.

Getting Around Houston

With the crowds gathering and events hosted in the city, the Final Four in Houston means road closures and hectic parking, but we’re here to save you.


Parking is available at multiple paid lot and garage locations in Houston’s Theater District for 24/7 access and credit card only payments. If preferred, you can even reserve your parking at with ParkMobile and ParkWhiz at available locations in the area, and parking payment can be made with the ParkHouston app. These parking locations include Rusk Street, Walker, and Texas at Bagby and Capitol, Louisiana, Texas, and Pairie at Smith. Flat Rates start at $15.

Free Rides

Metro Houston’s MetroRail is allowing passengers to ride for free from 3/31 – 4/3. Consider leaving the car to save gas, parking lookouts, and traffic!

Street Closures

Houston is closing down major streets for crowds and event coordination. The following roads won’t be available for the weekend:

  1. McKinney (LaBranch & Crawford)
  2. LaBranch (LaBranch & McKinney)
  3. Lamar (LaBranch & Crawford)
  4. Avenida de las Americas to George R. Brown Convention Center (2 Lanes)
